ANA CONDOLES VICE PRESIDENT, DR. OBARI GOMBA OVER THE LOSS OF HIS MOTHER
The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has condoled with its Vice President, Dr. Obari Gomba, over the passing of his beloved mother.
The Association described the loss as a deeply painful moment, not only for Dr. Gomba and his immediate family but also for the entire ANA community, which shares in his grief during this difficult time.
This was contained in a press statement issued by ANA President and General Secretary, Dr. Usman Oladipo Akanbi and Dame Joan Oji PhD.
The statement expressed profound sympathy to Dr. Gomba, who is also the winner of the 2023 edition of the Nigeria Prize for Literature, acknowledging his immense contributions to Nigeria’s literary landscape.
ANA extended its heartfelt condolences to the entire Gomba family, praying for strength, comfort, and fortitude as they navigate this period of mourning.
The Association emphasized the enduring values of family, legacy, and memory, noting that the life and impact of the deceased mother will continue to resonate through her children and all who knew her.
The Association further stated that it stands in full support of Dr. Gomba and his family, urging members and the wider literary community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
ANA reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity and compassion among its members, especially in moments of grief.
ANA also noted that burial arrangements will be made public once the family concludes its plans.
The Association prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed and for comfort to all those affected by this significant loss.
