ANA CALLS FOR PRAYERS FOR MR. TASLIM BIOLA LAYONU, FORMER ANA OYO CHAIRMAN, AFTER FATAL ACCIDENT CLAIMS FAMILY MEMBERS

The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has received with profound shock and deep sadness the news of a tragic accident involving the immediate past Chairman of the Oyo State Chapter of the Association, Mr. Taslim Abiola Layonu.

The unfortunate incident occurred while he was returning from the burial ceremony of his father-in-law, turning a moment of mourning into an even more devastating tragedy.

The Association is deeply grieved to learn that the accident claimed the lives of Mr. Layonu’s beloved wife and mother-in-law, as well as his wife’s uncle and brother-in-law.

This heartbreaking loss has left an irreplaceable void in his family and has deeply affected the entire ANA community, where Mr. Layonu is widely respected for his immense contributions and commitment.

While we mourn the lives lost, we are grateful that Mr. Layonu survived the accident. He is currently receiving medical care at an undisclosed hospital under the supervision of doctors. ANA calls on all its members, friends, and the wider literary community to keep him in their prayers, asking for his speedy and full recovery during this critical time.

The Association extends its deepest condolences to Mr. Layonu and his family over the painful loss of his wife, mother-in-law, and other family members. We pray that God grants him the strength and fortitude to bear this overwhelming grief and that the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.

ANA urges all members across the country to stand in solidarity with Mr. Layonu by offering prayers, support, and compassion. May our collective sympathy bring comfort to him and his family as they navigate this period of profound sorrow.
